Apparently, the first day of spring brought the second day of beautiful sunshine upon us. This lead to a bike trip around the local parks which left me smiling for no reason for the rest of the day

2013-02 Every day reality

Every month, the photography club I’m in suggests a topic for us to toy with. This month’s topic was “every day reality” (polish: codzienność), so I tried to capture a little bit of Warsaw’s daily life.
I know it’s kind of sad to see puddles and snow mud here, but well, that’s what I think you have to put up with daily.

And come on, Poland’s pavements are usually horrible – a bit heavier rain and you feel like a submarine!

It’s been snowing pretty hard the last couple of days, so I was able to experiment around close-ups of the white powder. I didn’t expect the blue-ish tint on one of the pictures to be as… blue , but I guess my camera is seeing things…

The people from Polibuda.info threw an amazing 8th birthday party with a nice leading theme – it was orange. What was really interesting is that the party didn’t turn out to be a usual disco, but ended up being one of these typical house parties (however englishmen call “domówka”s ) with a lot of people

How to Clean Camera Lenses

A dusty camera lens is similar to a dusty window. Think of the lens on your digital camera as the window for your images. If you have smudged or dusty lenses, the camera will have a difficult time “seeing” through its window, and your image quality will suffer. Cleaning camera lenses demand special care to avoid scratches and other damages. Professionals take this and the outcome of their pictures in high regards, as the popular German photographer Andreas Gursky said in an interview, “Vision is an intelligent form of thought”.

In essence, it is important to have a clear “vision” on your pictures, in order to have “an intelligent form of thought.” The guidelines below will help you clean your camera lens properly and safely. It is a wise idea to remove the dust from the lens first using a soft brush. Lightly brush the dust off from the middle of the lens to the edges. Then remove the dust from the edges by holding the camera upside down, with the lens glass directly facing the ground, permitting the dust to fall toward the ground as you continually brush. Use a brush with soft bristles, to avoid scratches. Dust formation is normal especially if a person has been frequently taking pictures at outdoor locations such as malls, social gatherings, or poker venues. In fact, outdoor locations are good places to hone photography skills. Although, taking pictures in some casinos and poker venues has been disallowed for security reasons, there are remarkably award winning pictures that were taken in such venues. It is made specifically for cleaning the glass surface on camera lenses as it removes smudges, with or without lens cleaning fluid. If you find it difficult to clean the lens adequately with the brush and a microfiber cloth, you can try using a few drops of lens cleaning fluid, which is available in most camera stores.
